The PDP chairmanship primary election of Ikwerre local government area which held at St. Martins Anglican church in Omagwa, Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State, had in attendance PDP stalwarts, chiefs, elders, women and youths of Ikwerre local government area.

Speaking to newsmen, Hon. Barr. Boniface Sunday  Omerengwa, a former member of the National Assembly had rated the primary election a success, stating that the process was peaceful, free of violence. Hon. Boniface Omerengwa said the Ikwerre people's choice candidate Hon. Nwanosike to represent them as their LGA chairman come June 16 is a commendable one, because he deserves it, and had worked hard for the party both at the LGA and state level; he also added that hon. Nwanosike being able to tackle the insecurity in the local government when he was the caretaker committee chairman of the LGA, no doubt will bring peace and security back to the local government.

Also, Hon. Orji Darlinton JP, a PDP chieftain from ward thirteen (13) Aluu, said this is the very first time the good people of ikwerre have come out in one voice to support a man who have been proven in integrity, capacity and in self service to the people to represent them as chairman of Ikwerre LGA come June 16.
Continuity, Hon. Orji stated " Hon. Engr. Samuel Nwanosike has made history today because he had washed his hands clean both at the state and local government level; but the constitution is very clear, whether you do a consensus or adoption, the choice candidate, also need to be confirmed through primaries and that is what we are doing today to speak in one voice, all the pdp personalities in our local government area are here to confirm the adoption of Hon. Engr. Nwanosike as the LGA chairman come June 16th.
On his part, Hon. Engr. Samuel Nwanosike commended the leadership of the people democratic party (PDP) both at the national, state and local government level, because the leadership has shown that they are rebuilding the party.
He also commended the good people of ikwerre local government for choosing  him as the candidate to fly the pdp chairmanship flag of the local government come June 16 election, he assured that pdp will win the general election, because Ikwerre LGA is predominantly pdp.

Hon. Nwanosike promised that his administration will restore security to the area to enable investors come in. He said the insecurity in the area is perpetrated by hungry youths who are not rightly employed because of the mismanagement of the country's economy which is caused by the president Buhari led administration that has failed in every sphere, young men have decided to take the law into their hands ".
Continuing, Hon. Nwanosike assured that his administration will get the security architecture right in order to fight insecurity in the local government area, to ensure safety and peace for the people to do business in the area, and also for peasant farmers to go back to their farms. He also promised his administration will rebuild and redevelop market places in the LGA, develop the immediate social lives of the people in the area, encourage young ones in sporting, encourage young ones be adequately educated, so that they can face the global world, also he  promised his administration will consciously sponsor four hundred and fifty youths in acquiring adequate education, he also promised his administration will rebuild primary schools that were abandoned by the past administration.

Hon. Nwanosike said that the state government should not be left to do everything, he also  promised that in his  administration, there will be no double taxation in the beak of increasing internally generated revenue, he assured that in his administration the revenue system will be clean, there will be no tauting, it will no longer be business for all. He promised his administration will build IT centers in the thirteen (13) wards of the LGA, so that the youths in the area who are interested can engage with foreign trades and in foreign businesses.

Meanwhile, Prof. Atuboyedia Obianume, the chairman of the electoral officers commended the good people of Ikwerre LGA for conducting themselves in a matured manner to ensure a peaceful/ violence free process of the primary election.
He added, by calculation Hon. Nwanosike remain unopposed. He said the exercise has confirmed and concluded that Hon. Nwanosike is their chairman come June 16th.
In counting, the professor stated " the exercise to be concluded, we have 299 delegates as suppose to be, but when the came to the field we have 263 delegates, meaning 87% of the delegates are here and they voted and out of those delegates were 4 discarded votes, they voted for individuals that are not on the ballot, the  rest of that ballot of 259 went to honourable samuel nwanosike alias Ishi, by this Hon. Samuel Nwanosike have scored 86% of the vote casted and thereby which translate to 98% if you take it to the overall total. And so, by this announcement subjects to the confirmation of the party and leadership, Hon. Engr. Samuel Nwanosike becomes the flag bearer of the party as chairman.
