Hon. Sobomabo Jackrich, a.k.a Egberipapa, a frontline political figure in Kalabari Kingdom, leader of Kengema Unity Forum, born philanthropist and a voice in Kalabari Kingdom on Thursday 8th March, 2018 condemned, faulted and disassociate with a statement credited to Dumo Lulu Briggs of the APC claiming that over 95% of Kalabari including KUF and the person of Hon. Sobomabo Jackrich will support any Kalabari born politician that emerge as a flag bearer of any major political party in 2019 Governorship Election.
Earlier, Dumo Lulu Briggs was quoted in a radio broadcast to say:

“...... I can say that all the Kalabari people are waiting and praying for a credible candidate that will emerge on a major political platform and when it happens at least 95% of Kalabari people will be behind the agenda including KUF and  Amb. Sobomabo Jackrich.” As it was transcribed from an audio file recorded from FM broadcast.

Hon. Sobomabo Jackrich refers to the statement as totally disgusting and unskillful approach by the APC to deceive the good people of Rivers State and probably themselves. He noted that KUF is the house and voice of the Kalabari people in the social and political arena. He said, KUF is focused on its pursuit to retain the current developmental stride across Kalabari and other regions of the state through the Gov. Wike administration.
The philanthropist, leader and grand patron of Kengema Unity Forum advised that no Man from Kalabari Land should nurse the ambition to contest for governorship position until 2023.

He said:
“Kengema Unity Forum is made up of over 90,000 verifiable members across the Kalabari Kingdom. Our membership is drawn from all units and wards of the three Local Government Areas that made up Kalabari Kingdom. We are made up of people of influential and reputable character; therefore, we will not feed on our excreta. We are serious people and we don’t make jokes with our statements. If Dumo Lulu Briggs is thinking of contesting, I think, he is not doing that at the interest of the good people of Kalabari Kingdom. We have seen and commended on the good works of Gov. Wike, so, let him continue till 2023.”

Hon. Sobomabo further indicated that there has been no time when Dumo Lulu Briggs and the Kengema Unity Forum met to assure him that KUF will support Kalabari Governorship in 2019.

“There has been no time, we, the Kengema Unity Forum has met with Dumo Lulu Briggs to endorse Kalabari Governorship ambition for 2019. The claim credited to Dumo that, over 2000 people from Kalabari has endorsed him to run is of no effect. I wondered what strength are 2000 people over a group that is formidable and is made up of over 90,000 in a democratic election of a majority vote. Gov. Wike endorsement by KUF remains no shaking. “Egberipapa added.

The able leader of Kengema Unity Forum and Philanthropist also refuted the claims by mischief makers that the endorsement of Gov. Wike for a second tenure was as a result of fear of threat. He said, the position of KUF is as a result of the vivid and crystal projects by the governor that will undeniably make Rivers State a centre infrastructure in Africa in the near future.

These were his words:
“Who will fear a governor that wants peace and is always welcoming every good person from the state as his own? What threat can a good governor give to the people he is leading than giving them projects. The governor is only a threat to enemies of development in Rivers State? KUF is fearless and will not subscribe to distractions by mischief makers and those who are not genuinely passionate with the interest of Rivers State and its people.”

“When we were advocating for and calling on support for Kalabari Governorship with our time, finance and energy in 2015, they were seeking endorsement from God-knows-what places and lost out as a result of acknowledging our strength. Wike emerged as PDP candidate because he was able to convince us on his love for and inclusion of Kalabari  and we were able to identify with his manifesto for good governance, we supported him and he won. He has been caring-out several developmental projects that are visible for every good person to see and acknowledge. Because of his unending projects that has affected even the Kalabari Kingdom positively; we want him to continue until 2023. No other party will be able to score up to 20,000 votes in the entire result. Let no Kalabari politician should waste his money to contest as governor in 2019. Gov. Wike has proven very competent and trust worthy, let him continue. Every other person should wait until 2023 and then in that year 2023, we will massively agitate for and support a credible Kalabari politician to occupy brick house as governor.”  Hon. Sobomabo reacted.

Egberipapa also advised Rivers people to continuously support the Sir Felix Obuah lead PDP and Governor Wike administration to further attract peace, security and development in the State.
